It is carried out with a group of people. The consultant presents a topic . The facilitator may ask about some related information as regards the current or origin family as well as tragic events ( early deaths, delivery deaths, abortions, suicides, emmigrations, economic crisis, etc Afterwards, the consultant chooses “representatives”. Occasionaly the facilitator may choose.

In a Family Constellation the representative role is the top expression of phenomenology. Hellinger names representative the individual who takes a certain role where a transference of significantly accurate information is produced. Other concept strongly connected, both with phenomenology aand systemic approach is synchronicity.
These synchronicities where consultants are gnerally unconsciously accurate when assigning roles to unknown people, shows not only synchroniciy but also the systemic network that links us, as well as the unconscious information that dwels in us and leads us even though we may not perceive it at a conscious level. Thus, once chosen, the representatives will place themselves in the field and the configuration will be set up in agreement with an inner image of the consultant. As from then the constellation will unfold. The consultant will be able to see the true relation among the represented people, and perceive the altered order or basic dynamic of the family thus getting on the track that leads to the solution of the conflict. When presenting the topic, the consultant is somehow not alone. While talking the whole system is right there.
